I'm already in landbarge withdrawal. It's going to be a looooong winter. Anyone else have cars that they've put away for the season?

EDIT: Aside from that week it was down with electrical problems

Landbarge withdrawal is the worst.

They become the only things you ever want to drive and no one understands.

You, you understand the struggle.

I used to think I wanted good handling, but then I got a landbarge and my tastes completely changed.

Quite the contrary, having the snow tires mounted Saturday. But, then, my car is 40 years newer, with better rustproofing, but far less character and nowhere near as comfortable.

Sort of. I've put away my project car for the winter since my parents need the storage space for the winter which doesn't leave me enough room to work in. I can't wait to get a house with a real garage. In the past I had an '05 Mustang GT that I would park for the winter and withdrawal was a bitch. Especially since my winter beater was a Windstar.

Take her out on the town every time there is no snow

I would but it's really a matter of insurance and storage. I take the insurance off the car and store it remotely at a garage across town. Otherwise I totally would!

The C4... But it's a SoCal car and I'd like to keep its winter status as not having seen one. Especially with all of the salt/sand they throw down here for moronic drivers. I'm hoping to get lots done with it, though.

I may have. I cleaned out the spot, parked the '73, and put the cover over her. It may stay there for the season, it may not, depending on the weather and circumstances. I've been using it as my runner when visiting my parents (they have room, I don't), so it may come back out.

I'm going to be putting my Datsun away once my Subaru gets fixed up. The 240 is on daily duty right now and is going to enjoy a much needed nap and some work done on her this winter.

The bikes and FR-S are sleeping for the winter and I'll be Saab'n it for the forseeable future.

My 68 Fury III never saw a winter a break. Rear wheel drive all year. Michigan snow, Ha! Loved that car. Commando 383

was perfect for all 4 seasons.

(not mine, but similar)

no because SNOW HOONS

i'll probably end up killing myself with two RWD cars in the snow

although in the winter i do leave a car cover on them when i'm not driving them though

I've only ever driven RWD cars except for my little Suzu Swift GTi. I worry more about rust than traction to be honest.

'73 Charger. Land yachty at 18+ feet with the mile-long hood, soft seats, and body roll. Sporty with bucket seats, console shifter, and adjustable (firm, really firm, and solid) shocks that make the car handle bumps like a tractor. Like a speedboat. Best of both worlds?

I am a 2 wheels good, baddie. I haven't had it out in a week or two. Rain and cold and time. I gave up taking it to work last week. Had to warm it up for 15 minutes with the choke on to ride for 2 minutes. It stalled out and almost killed me twice (big trucks and assholes with Venzas) when i didn't. Might get an afternoon in over the next couple of weeks but SW ONTARIO is full fall. End of my street is paved in leaves too. Not fun.

I DD a Fiat 500. But within the last decade, I owned an '84 Pontiac Parisienne and a '76 Century wagon. Neither of those cars is as big as your lovely Newport. But I, too, miss cruising in an old battleship. Desperately.

Before I saw this, I was looking longingly at a '76-77 Plymouth Gran Fury in one of my books. Sigh. I have one of the smallest cars on sale in America right now, and I love it for what it is. But I miss my old battleships.

I know that feel of landbarge withdrawl. It's been a couple years since I've had one - I had to sell both my '91 Caprice and my '76 Delta 88.

The '88 Ram 50 is going into hibernation as soon as Project $300 can be driven.

Oh wow, this reads exactly like me. Rode my bike for the first time in a couple weeks last night. Was running like crap but finely got the idle adjusted right. Took it to work today (40 miles highway) and it was muuuuuch happier. Before that, yeah, couple scary stalls at lights last night.

Stupid carburetors....

It's sitting in the garage taunting me when I go by. Make the voices stop. I have to replace the rear rotor and pads anyway. The noise they make when the pads go over the fracture in the rotor do not make me feel good.
